Great to return to Oxford United to start my 9th season!

I was so excited last week to be able to return to Oxford United FC as a member of the medical team.
I have been working with the first team for 9 years, and the squad is a strong as ever this season.
I will be spending a couple of days a week at the training ground to assist the full time medical team (head by team Physio Amy Cranston) to ensure the squad is in the best medical condition for match day and also to help those who are in recovery.
I also attend the home games mainly to to provide pre-match treatment, so my time at Oxford Utd works well alongside my private clients during the week.

A sense of normality.!

I hope you are all keeping well during this second lockdown.

Alongside my private work, I am keeping busy with my time working at Oxford United FC where I am still able to treat the players as part of the medical team made up of dedicated and talented professionals; Amy Cranston (1st team physio), Spike (Soft Tissue Therapist) & Nathan Benjamin Smith (Sports Therapist).

It's so vital to maintain a routine as close to normality as possible, even if there are some restrictions.  Fingers crossed that change is just around the corner.

Return To Normality After The FA Cup

Now it’s back to business!

After a very exciting night under the floodlights yesterday, it is back to my clinic for the next couple of days before returning to Oxford Utd on Friday to help the team physically prepare for Saturday's league game.

It is always a highlight to share the experience of a large occasion with Oxford Utd, and yesterday was no exception.  To see the players all give 100% on the pitch over 120 mins is so rewarding for the medical team, and although the FA Cup run was a nice distraction, it is back to business and concentrate on the league and our aim of promotion this season.

Due to Friday's extra session with Oxford Utd, and I am also attending an athletics meeting on Saturday, mean that my clinic spaces are more limited than usual this week, so please let me know asap if you would like to book an appt.

Players Wanted for Headington Youth U16's Football Team

I have been a youth football coach for over 10 years and I am currently managing the Headington Youth U16's football team where I am looking for at least 3 more players to help increase our friendly squad in preparation for the coming season.

We train 6.30pm - 8pm on Friday in Risinghurst where we will also play our Sunday league games in the Oxford Mail Youth League.

If you are a boy or girl footballer who will be in school year 11 for 2019/2020 and want to enjoy playing in a friendly and supportive team with the emphasis on supportive team work and not just 'winning at all costs' and with the playing time shared equally throughout the team please contact me via chris@back2best.com / mob. 07905808612

My U11's were voted the Oxfordshire FA Respect Team of the Year (out of over 400 teams) a few years ago and I still apply the same principles of fair play and respect with my team today, so if you just want to enjoy your football in a non pressurised environment then Headington Youth U16's is for you!
