Oxford United FC
Back for my 7th season with Oxford United FC!
It was great to return to Oxford United to work alongside the OUFC medical team after 6 weeks away today.
This time of year the majority of the soft tissue treatment is to help maintain the player's physical condition while they train at an increased level in order to achieve maximum fitness and start the season as strongly as possible.
It is always enjoyable to work alongside the medical team again especially the 'boss' Amy who is the 1st team physio, Spike (who I have had the pleasure of working alongside for the past 7 years) and Nathan the Sports Therapist.
When I return after the pre season break I always find it strange to not see the 1st team players who have left the club but then again it is always nice to greet the new arrivals who will soon become familiar faces and the relationship of athlete/therapist forms where we can both identify what types of treatment they find most beneficial.
My time at Oxford United equates to one full day at the training ground and attending the home matches and is a very rewarding part of my career and it fits in well with my time as a professional Soft Tissue Specialist allowing me time to run my clinic in Headington to treat those who need my help including; professional athletes, semi pro and amateur athletes, recreational sportspeople, office workers for postural pain and absolutely anyone else who would like to benefit from a professional soft tissue treatment/sports massage.
